AIM… I just returned from a business/pleasure trip to Las Vegas with my husband. We’ve been to Vegas before and I must say, it’s a city that never fails to live up to my expectations. We had an enjoyable escape together, and my husband experienced some wonderful business advances. It’s so good for our marriage to be able to have time to reconnect and have fun in the midst of our crazy lives.
While we did lots of “people-watching” of the other thousands of people we encountered, I often thought about the Vegas marketing slogan: “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.” Truthfully, I’m not really sure that’s accurate. Sure, that’s what they WANT you to think, but reality says otherwise. Las Vegas is a 24-hour, non-stop opportunity to experience things that affect ALL of your senses. With each of your experiences, you have the potential to bring home great memories, amazing pictures and obscene amounts of money. You also have the potential to bring home a guilty conscience, heart break and regret, and financial wreckage. No matter who you choose to personify in a city such as Las Vegas, you are still you, and at some point, you will meet yourself again when the giddy escape ride comes to a screeching halt at the reality station.
Like all things, there are appropriate times, places, and limits to enjoying all life has to offer us without tempting fate and personal peril. I say, live a little, love a lot, but be sure you can still look yourself in the mirror and like the man or woman staring back at the end of the day.
FIRE! Let your hair down and plan a fun escape, even if it’s simply a crazy game night at home. We all need time to rest, relax, and get riled up. Share your creative ideas…if you dare!

TGIF!

AIM… Thank God It’s Friday!! Have you had a crazy week too? Yep, it is nuts in my world right now. I’m SO glad it’s Friday because that means it’s the weekend and I can catch my breath to regroup before Monday rolls around again.
What is it about the normal week that leaves us giddy with excitement that Friday has finally arrived? I guess for the person who works a typically scheduled job it means time to rest and renew for a few days on the weekend. For the college student, it means party time! For the restaurant owner and retail manager, it means cha-ching: business = bonus. What does Friday mean to you? Whether you like it or not, today is FRIDAY, and I’m sharing my enthusiasm out loud. Join me chanting T-G-I-F, T-G-I-F!!!
FIRE! So, what do you have planned for your Friday? This week, even if you don’t have plans, do something totally spontaneous and make sure it is fabulous and FUN!
