READY… “Stressed spelled backwards is desserts. Coincidence??
I think not!” ~ Author Unknown
AIM… Stress comes in many forms. While you may feel stressed about a situation
in your life, the person standing beside you may feel stressed for another
reason. There’s job stress, family
stress, financial stress, relationship stress, health and wellness stress,
educational stress and those are just the big categories. Stress is wrecking havoc on our bodies,
physically and emotionally. Overall, the
expectations we put on ourselves and that we allow others to lay upon us are often
unrealistic and because of this, the only outcome is anxiety and stress. We can do ourselves a favor and put our
stresses in proper perspective. Each one
of us needs to re-evaluate our expectations and commitments so we can better
manage our lives and the outside influences that add to our stress levels. While our family was on vacation this summer,
one of the restaurants we ate in had a list of 35 Sure Fire Stress Reducers posted in their establishment. What great advice it shares for all of us to
follow. Here are a few of my favorites:
“Simplify and unclutter your life.”
“Say ‘no’ to projects that won’t fit
into your time schedule, or that will compromise your mental health.”
“Separate worries from concerns. If a situation is a concern, do what you can
do and let go of the anxiety. If you
can’t do anything about a situation, forget it.”
“K.M.S. (Keep Mouth Shut.) This single piece of advice can prevent an
enormous amount of trouble.”
“Everyday find time to be alone.”
“Make friends with happy,
non-stressed people.”
“Laugh.”
“Laugh some more!”
“You no longer have to keep up with
the Joneses…They’ve died of exhaustion.”
“Talk less and listen more.”
FIRE! Instead of grabbing a high
fat, late night snack or piece of chocolate to deal with your stress, try going
to bed a little earlier. Remember, the
shortest bridge between despair and hope is often a good night’s sleep.
Be
Excellent!

TGIF!
READY… "There aren’t enough Fridays in the week.” ~All Famous Quotes on Fridays
AIM… Thank God It’s Friday!! Have you had a crazy week too? Yep, it is nuts in my world right now. I’m SO glad it’s Friday because that means it’s the weekend and I can catch my breath to regroup before Monday rolls around again.
What is it about the normal week that leaves us giddy with excitement that Friday has finally arrived? I guess for the person who works a typically scheduled job it means time to rest and renew for a few days on the weekend. For the college student, it means party time! For the restaurant owner and retail manager, it means cha-ching: business = bonus. What does Friday mean to you? Whether you like it or not, today is FRIDAY, and I’m sharing my enthusiasm out loud. Join me chanting T-G-I-F, T-G-I-F!!!
FIRE! So, what do you have planned for your Friday? This week, even if you don’t have plans, do something totally spontaneous and make sure it is fabulous and FUN!

Lazy Days Of Summer
READY… “Today I don’t feel like doing anything. I just wanna lay in my bed. Don’t feel like picking up my phone, so leave a message at the tone. ‘Cause today I swear I’m not doing anything, nothing at all.” ~ Bruno Mars “The Lazy Song”
AIM… It’s summer. Yes, I realized that I did not send an Arrows of Integrity message last week. My excuse? I don’t have one…other than the simple fact that I was being lazy. The week before I was on vacation and had prepared an extra AOI message just so I could keep you in the loop while I was away. However, when I returned home, I hadn’t checked back in yet and so I just extended my relaxed schedule and remained uninspired and on lazy time.
You know, most of us really don’t know how to check out, relax and just be lazy. We’re so keyed up and stressed out that when we actually get an opportunity to rest or take a vacation, we don’t know how. Life demands so much from us from work stresses, activity schedules and home responsibilities that it’s no wonder we don’t know how to flip the off switch in our brains. It literally took me two days to unwind while we were on vacation. That’s nuts! However, once I achieved my state of relaxation, it was smooth sailing the rest of the week…and into the next. I’m happy to report that while I’m going to enjoy the low-key schedule of summer with my children, I’m back on track keeping you, my avid Arrows readers, encouraged and inspired. In the meantime, I hope you too will embrace summer and just relax your routine.
FIRE! Choose one day (or a ½ day) this week to “check out” and just enjoy some lazy time. You deserve a break, so rest already!!
